An upside bat that continues to impress in showcase settings. Creates a ton of energy with lower half through loading sequence, launching from a mostly balanced position. Barrel explodes through the zone with some natural loft to path. Swings with intent and generates impressive pop, especially to pull side. Looks to have calmed down movements a bit since we saw him last, showcasing a more controlled swing. A primary first baseman that worked out in the outfield on the day. Looks new to the spot but has the arm for a corner position. Should only get better with reps.
Nicodemo stood out in BP today amongst a talented group of Team Ohio hitters. The left-handed bat doesn’t get cheated at the plate. The combination of natural tools, physicality, and aggression make him fun to watch. Possesses all the tools to be a regular power threat down the road. A first baseman with some feel around the bag. Glove skills are average to slightly above average. Bat is his top tool but he has the functional athleticism to grow into a solid defender as he matures.
