A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball

Body Type: 5-foot-9, 155-pound physical frame. Swing Mechanics: A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Uses a leg kick timing trigger during back load to hands. Hit: Level path with more strength than speed at this stage. Ball comes off well. Drove the ball to left field with authority. Power: Gap abilities. Offensive Projection: Middle of lineup. Field: In the infield he plays with smooth, quiet feet in his approach. Cuts down distance off the bat and showed some softness to hands through fielding. Throw: Arm strength is developing. Defensive Projection: TBD.
Body Type: 5-foot-9, 155-pound physical frame. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Works with good pace to a delivery that doesn’t require much effort. Lower half works well, staying connected and creating solid direction. Fastball: 74-76 mph. Mostly straight through the zone. Average spin rate guy that still has room for more velocity as he learns to stay behind the ball. Fastball will show some dive when working down in the zone. Curveball: 60-61 mph. 10/4, gradual breaking curveball with a big shape to it. Slurvish look to it. Pitchability: In the zone fore the most part.
