Jared Hoersten: RHP/SS, (2023) Oregon Clay, OH. 6-foot-1, 155-pound. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 92 mph. (65.5 mph bat speed average). (21.7 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a quick load, then used a controlled stride. Has quick bat speed, upward simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 79 mph; had consistent footwork, a clean exchange, and sure hands. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Had a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.26. On the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action while showing consistent arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. Sat with his fastball at 81-83 mph and topped out at 85 mph; Has slight running action. (Max spin 2079; Avg 1984). Shows some action on his 11/5 curveball (72-74). (Max spin 2010; Avg 2007). He had some action on his changeup (75-76). Throws a 10/4 slider (71-74) with tight action. (Max spin 1967; Avg 1955).
