Hit: Left-handed hitter that starts in an upright setup. Smooth, athletic mover with feel for what he's doing. Bat speed is above average and he has a very efficient path to contact. Ball comes off well, with more of a pull side approach in BP. Power: Flashed gap abilities. Offensive Projection: Middle ceiling. Field: Smooth actions throughout sequence in the outfield. Ball skills appear to be on par for class. Corner skill set. Also worked out at first base where he looks to be a solid defender. Throw: Smooth arm that projects for more velocity. Defensive Projection: Corner guy.
Scouting Notes: Another young, talented arm we saw at the event that will be a high follow over his high school career. Physical, projectable frame with control over his moving parts. Much more to come down the road to add to his mid 70s fastball at present. The better of the two secondaries on this day was the changeup with breaking ball also showing potential. Fastball: Heavy pitch that shows consistent arm side life. In the zone with regularity. Breaking Ball: Throws the pitch firm. Not a ton of action but good depth. Changeup: Solid offering. Good sell out of the hand with late run/dive. Pitchability: Strike thrower for the most part.
