Zachary Rust: 1B/RHP, (2022) Dublin Coffman, OH. 6-foot-3, 200-pound. Solid at the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 91 mph. Started in a tall open stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Bat speed was quick, and used a simple swing plane. Found multiple barrels with some loud contacts. Projectable on the mound, showed a high ¾ arm angle and good arm speed. Feel type pitcher who uses easy effort. Has a tall balance point. Has a clean finish. Curveball (70-72 mph), changeup (75-77 mph).Produced a fastball that came in at 81-85 mph.
Scouting Notes: Very solid showing. 6-foot-3 RHP with an easy delivery. Arm works and fastball was up to 81mph.. Both breaking ball and changeup are more than serviceable secondary offering. Should continue to trend upward stock wise as he fills out that projectable frame.
Fastball: 79-81mph..
Fastball Spin Rate: 1653-1835rpm.
Breaking Ball: 71-72mph..
Breaking Ball Spin Rate: 1471-1617rpm..
Changeup: 75-76mph.
Hit:Balanced setup from the right side. Simple, yet repeatable load that leads to a balanced launch. Both strength and speed are above average tools for class. Ball jumped, especially when working to pull side.
Power:Easy gap abilities.
Offensive Projection:Run producer profile.
Field:Frame/skill set play over at first base where he also offers above average athleticism/ball skills.
Throw:Clean arm with easy jump.
Defensive Projection:1B.
