Dondi King Jr.: LHP/OF, (2021) Carl Albert, OK. 6-foot-2, 200-pound physical frame. At the plate, King jr. showed his power ability with an exit velocity of 91 mph. Starts in an athletic stance with a small load, then uses a toe tap just before his swing. Bat speed is above average, has rotational swing plane and high finish. He Barreled up some balls with loud contact. Pull side approach. Average in the outfield, his best throws to the infield topped out at 79 mph; has sure hands, a lengthy exchange and consistent feet. Used an-over-the-top slot and a stiff arm action. Recorded a 60 time of 7.1 at the event. Used an over-the-top arm angle and a short arm action while showing some arm speed. Showed easy effort in his delivery. He has even shoulders and consistent balance point. Lands open with a clean finish. Fastball has deception and arm side run at 78-79 mph. His curveball shows near 12/6 shape at 68-69. Also throws an effective knuckleball at 70-71 mph.

A physically advanced 6-foot-2, 189-pound frame packed with strength. On the mound, the left-hander works from a slightly up-tempo delivery with a high leg kick and abbreviated stride before finishing to the dish. Arm action drops straight down with a pause before coming through an over the top slot with length. Fastball shows some arm-side run at 78-79 mph, nearly all strikes. Curveball shows rolling 1/7 strikes at 68-69 mph. In the game, struck out three of the five batters he faced in a quick inning of work.

A 6-foot-2, 189-pound lean, muscular, and athletic frame. Offensively, King is a switch hitter with some pop from both sides, with more consistent hard contact coming from the right side. Uses A balanced and athletic set-up with a big and quick reverse toe-tap before laying his barrel back and pulling his hands through a slightly uphill path with bat speed and some barrels strength. In BP, shows a middle to pull approach from the right and a pull approach form the left, mostly barrels, 91 mph exit velo. Runs a  6.82 60. Defensively, shows confident action with closing speed. Arm action is stiff coming through a high-¾ slot with accuracy at 80 mph.

A physically advanced 6-foot-2, 188-pound frame with quick twitch athleticism and strength. Offensively, the switch hitter bats from similar set-ups from both sides with a balanced, quiet, and athletic stance. Uses a reverse toe-tap load before dropping his hands and launching them on a slightly uphill path through extension. In BP, shows a pull approach, mostly flat with occasional lift and pull pop, 89 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.71 60. Defensively, shows clean and confident actions. Throws with a long arm stroke and some stiffness before coming through an over the top slot with accuracy at 78 mph from the outfield.

A very lean and athletic 6-foot, 180-pound frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. On the mound, works from a slightly up-tempo delivery with a high leg kick and short stride. Arm stabs down and behind him out of the break, hooking his wrist, comes through a high-3/4 slot with some stiffness. Fastball has slight arm-side run, sitting 74-75 mph. Curveball shows gradual 1/7 shape, 65-66 mph, some strikes. Knuckleball shows true life, dancing across the zone with late action, some strikes, 67-69 mph.  Offensively, the switch hitter is much more proficient from the right-side batting from an upright, balanced stance with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a smooth load and small stride, lowering his hands before he brings them through on a flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a gap-to-gap approach with occasional lift, some bat speed, some barrels, 81 mph exit velo. An advanced runner for his age, runs a 6.94 60. Defensively, shows some speed and athleticism, throws from behind the baseball with some stiffness, 72 mph with excellent accuracy.

A physically advanced 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame with some quick twitch and strength. On the mound, works from an uptempo delivery with some rhythm. Uses a high leg kick before slowing down and gliding to the place, landing slightly up. Arm action is short in the back with a wrist curl before coming through and over the top slot with a quick arm and some stiffness. Fastball has some downhill tilt at 76-77 mph, above average feel for the zone. Knuckle-curve is sharp and late with 12/6 shape, above average command, 66-68 mph. Changeup flashes fade 67-68 mph. Overall, King’s athleticism, frame, and feel for the zone make him a prospect to watch.

Defensively, shows clean and confident actions, fields the ball well, shows stiffness in his arm circle coming through a high-¾ slot, excellent accuracy at 76 mph.

A 6-foot-1, 180-pound athletic frame. On the mound, the left-hander works from an average tempo delivery with rhythm using a high leg kick and a soft front side before finishing to the dish. Arm action has length dropping straight down and behind him with a hitch before coming through an over the top slot with some stiffness. Fastball sits 74-77 mph with consistent and late arm side run. Curveball shows big depth with near 12/6 depth at 65-67 mph. Changeup has some depth 67-68 mph. Filled up the zone with all three pitches. Punched out three of the five batters he faced and got weak contact from the other two.

Throws with a long arm stroke and some stiffness before coming through an over the top slot at 76 mph from the outfield. In the game, showed an aggressive approach putting a few good swings on pitches.

An athletic 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame with advanced strength. On the mound, the left-hander works from a slightly up-tempo delivery with a high leg kick before gliding to the dish. Arm action has some stiffness, dropping straight down behind him before a quick change of direction, coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sits 76-77 mph with heavy arm side run, mostly strikes. Curveball shows 1/7 shape with gradual break at 68-69 mph. Knuckleball dances consistently at 69-70 mph.

Offensively, the switch hitter bats from similar balanced, even, and athletic set-ups on both sides with rhythm from both sides.  Uses a moderate reverse toe-tap load before dropping his hands and pulling them through an uphill path through extension. In BP, from the left side, show and all fields approach with some lift to the pull side, almost all barrels, 88 mph exit velo. From the right side, shows a middle to pull approach with some lift, some barrels, 89 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.71 60. Defensively, shows confident and athletic actions with good closing speed. Throws with a moderate arm stoke through an over the top slot with some accuracy at 76 mph. 

9-9-18
A lean, strong, and athletic 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame. On the mound the left-hander works from a deliberate delivery with a high leg kick and short front side before gliding softly down the mound. Arm action is very short in the back, dropping straight down out of the break with a quick change of direction at the bottom of the arm stroke before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sits 78-79 with consistent arm-side run, almost all strikes. Knuckleball dances and darts constantly with late action at 68-71 mph. In the game, King punched out all five batters he faced, getting ahead with the fastball and fooling hitters with his knuckleball.
