Game Performance

Notes

Comments

1.14.17 - Silvera has changed his frame and added noticeable strength to frame and looks strong and more cut. Workout in Barrie and the swing generates well with bat speed and good path to ball. Few were loud off bat and drove to left centre, looks to be on right path this off-season and the weight room has paid off.

9.9.17 - Body much bigger and stronger at 5-foot-11, 215-pounds, can tell he's been in the gym. Exit velo jumped up 10 mph to 86, bat speed through the zone and turns the barrel, stays compact and ontime with leg kick and separation with hands, worked gap to gap with hard contact ot both sides. Moves well around the bag at first, arm was average and showed feel for picking balls in the dirt. Much improved with strength gains and chance to evolve into power bat and middle of the order guy for the Nationals.

10.23.16 - Young 2020 grad with size to his stocky frame at 5-foot-9, 220-pounds. Hits from a slightly open stance and upright lower half, incorporates a small leg kick into load with bat speed to contact. Silver does not get cheated in the box, timing and reps will be big for Silvera, exit velocity was 77 mph. Defensively, showed knowledge of the position at first base, made all the plays while arm worked from 3/4 arm slot that was 74 mph across the diamond. Room and time is on Silvera side as he continues to develop.
