7/27/22

Physical: Strong, broad-shouldered 5-foot-10, 180lb frame. 7.20 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Wide, even stance, as the upper-half showed rear-side coil and hinge out over the plate. Utilized a short leg-lift stride to initiate the swing through a slightly uphill, explosive path with a high-end rotational skill set. Mostly pull-side approach that stayed grounded into the finish for a T95 mph exit velocity and 342 foot distance via Trackman. Lots of success vs. the FB in early counts.

Defensively: The primary middle infielder featured a bounce in the prep-step, using active footwork and a compact setup to create proper angles across the dirt. Continues improving reads off the bat, winning spots at the touch with a live 90 mph throwing arm from a H ¾ slot.

6/14/22

Physical: Advanced strength in a 5-foot-11, 180lb frame with athletic actions. 7.23 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Wider, grounded stance, as the hands operated pre-set at the shoulder at a 45. Utilized a short lift and replace stride with some hip-coil, generating a fast rotational turn through an uphill path into the hitting zone. A two-handed finish produced consistent line drives with carry, maxing out at 351 feet and T97 mph bat-exit velocity during his round. One of the louder sessions of the event, easy pull-side HR juice.

Defensively: The middle infielder projects a stay on the left side moving forward. Up tempo footwork and a twitchy release from H ¾ slot (88 mph, accurate). Loads up and stays behind the ball in the lower half, making all the plays.

Pitching: RHP. Begins from the left corner; slower pace in the delivery, showing the letters before uncoiling into footstrike. Held every bit of 81-83 mph (2400+) with strike throwing ability. Mixed a sharp, lateral 69-74 mph CB that manipulated tilt at times, adding a fading 69-71 mph CH too. Lighting-quick arm to close the gap.

2/27/22

Physical: The durable, compact 5-foot-10, 175-pounder ran a 7.39 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Quiet, balanced stance just inside shoulder width as the hands operated freely, knob to catcher. Utilized a short lift and replace stride and uncoiled through a slightly uphill path to initiate the swing towards a high/controlled two-handed finish. One of the breakout rounds of the event, up to a T96 mph bat-exit velocity, 90 mph AVG, and added a 357 foot distance on his best swing. Really connects to the ground offensively, adjusting to pitches in any quadrant (100% sweet spot rate).

Defensively: The shortstop demonstrated graceful movements off the bat and rounded the ball at times on the approach. Glided through a right to left pattern and released up to 86 mph across the diamond, carry/accurate. Made all the plays necessary.

Pitching: RHP - Begins from the left side; short rocker step towards higher, hip-coiled stack position. Uses momentum in leg swing to get down the slope athletically. Good arm-speed on an 85-86 mph FB that clipped the zone at a 50% rate. Mixed a sharp, two-plane 71-73 mph CB and faded an upper 70’s CH with chance of being a solid third pitch.

6/15/21

Physical: Lean, even-waisted 5-foot-9, 167lb frame with room to continue adding to the build. 7.63 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Started with an upright, even stance as the barrel worked up/down to start in front of the shoulder; utilized a controlled leg hang gradually finding the ground and initiated through a flat path into the hitting zone. Whippy barrel that produced solid contact from G2G during batting practice. Posted a T84 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman while working up to a 305 foot batted ball distance. A 100% fly ball rate points to the ability to lift and backspin the baseball for a future middle of the order approach.

Defensively: The primary shortstop featured smooth actions during defensive evaluations, showing some length/range in either direction. Held the chest over the toes creating momentum down through the target and above-average pace in the footwork. Repeatable H ¾ slot and 81 mph arm with ability to stick on the left side moving forward.

2/27/21

Physical: 5’9 160 lb ran a  7.08 laser timed 60-yard dash. Has intent that plays in all sides of his game

Offensively: Strong athletic movements, works to and through the ball creating solid contact consistently.

Defensively: Free-flowing movements, plays low to the ground, and presents the glove on time to field cleanly. Through well ability to drop to a lower arm slot on the run.

2/15/20

First look at the 5-foot-5, 142-pound right-handed hitter. He starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a short leg-hang stride. Displayed balance throughout with a feel for the barrel during a solid round of batting practice. Registered a bat exit velocity of 79 mph and ran a 7.08 60-yard dash. Moved around the diamond with confidence defensively with accurate 72 mph arm strength across the diamond. Solid young prospect with a chance to show rapid improvements as his athletic frame matures.
