4/5/17 At 6-foot-4, 210-pounds Vietmeier is an imposing figure on the mound. On a day where he pounded the zone against overmatched hitters he sat 87-90 touching 91. The LSU recruit's two-seam fastball showed considerable arm-side run. Secondary pitches were used sparingly but a 76 mph curveball with 11/5 shape, tight rotation and sharp break was present. Arm is loose with minimal effort to delivery.
2/15/15 Vietmeier looks the part of a college upperclassman at 6-foot-4, 210-pounds. The righty worked effortlessly from a high 3/4 arm slot sitting 84-86 while commanding the zone with significant run to his fastball. The sophomore gave a glimpse of his upper end velocity when he reached back for 89 mph on his final delivery of his bullpen session. Vietmeier showcased two additional quality offerings in a 75 mph curveball with 11/5 rotation and a 75 mph changeup with run and sink. Both pitches are thrown with above average arm speed and compliment Vietmeier's power fastball well.
5/6/14 Vietmeier sat 84-86 out of the stretch in his first inning of relief from a high 3/4 arm slot. He settled in at 87-88 out of the wind-up in his final two innings of work. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound freshman also displayed a biting 75 mph curveball that gives him two quality pitches and will make him one of the most followed arms in this class moving forward.
