3/13/20

The two way Tennessee-Martin took the mound to start this one. FB up to 83 sitting 79-83 on the evening showing a clean repeatable delivery with good tempo to the game. FB showed more cut than usual with his CB flashing a proper shape and late bite. Going to continue to command the strike zone. 3 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 K’s. The two-way also had good at-bats all night going 1 for 3 with an RBI to show for. Continues to show the ability to find the barrel. Generates bat sped through the zone. Repeatable swing, with a line drive oriented approach.

9/09/19

The two-way utility man helped lead Gametime Elite to the championship round of the Kentucky Limited Series in July.  Showed advanced approach at the plate w/ knack for offensive production in many ways.  Was 81-84 on the mound while playing both middle infield positions.  The uncommitted Beaman rose from 132 to 77 (+55) in the 2020 rankings.

2/3/19 - Max FB: 82, FB (80-82), CB (67-68), CH (73-74)

5-10, 155-pound righty shows intriguing FB life w/ intriguing secondary pitch.  Medium, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned lean strength, some physical projection.  Pitches from a full wind-up into H ¾ release from the first base side of the rubber.  Simple, repeatable delivery, compact.  Arm works.  FB shows consistent arm-side run, difficult to elevate.  Medium downer CB w/ occasional proper shape, occasionally comes up out of hand.  CH w/ occasional fade and sink.  Around the zone w/ 3-pitch mix, projects to command.

2/3/19 - 60: 6.97, IF Velo: 81, Exit Velo: 83

5-10, 155-pound middle infielder showed improvement across the board from last summer, highlighted by his sub 7.00 sixty time.  Medium, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned lean strength, some physical projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into stride to square and proper load.  Simple, repeatable swing.  All fields, line-drive oriented approach.  Projectable gap power type.  Defensively, moves well w/ soft hands, good footwork and projectable carry to target arm strength.

7/3/18 - Max FB: 82, FB: 80-82, CB: 71-74, CH: 74-77
5-foot-9, 150-pound, RHP showed ability to command his FB.  Short, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned lean strength.  Projectable.  Pitches from a full wind-up into ¾ release from the first base side of the rubber.  Quick arm w/ clean, repeatable delivery.  Glove tapper.  Some deception with the arm getting into hitter’s eye line late, allows velocity to play up a couple ticks.  Straight FB shows occasional short arm-side run.  Medium downer CB w/ proper shape and rotation.  Occasionally gets slurvy when overthrown in 2-strike situations, slider like.  Firm straight CH.  Fills the zone w/ his FB, developing feel of his secondary stuff, projects to command.  Generated 4 swing and misses on 15 swings.

7/3/18 - Home-1st: 4.56, Position Velocity:  IF-80, Exit Velocity: 80
5-foot-9, 150-pound, RHH showed intriguing tools both in the box and on the mound.  Short, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned lean strength.  Projectable.  Offensively, hits w/ an open, crouched stance w/ hand rhythm into knee to knee leg kick and proper load.  Generates bat speed through the zone.  Line drive machine at his best, consistent hard contact in BP and showed ability to back-spin line drives in game.  Some stiffness through the zone at times.  All fields approach.  Gap power type w/ projectable pull power as he learns to pull the baseball.  Defensively, moves well laterally w/ soft hands and good footwork w/ carry to target arm strength.
