Dolby is 6-5 with lankier athletic prototypical pitcher's frame with a lot of projection left to it. He throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot, shorter loose quick arm action, easier effort to his drop and drive delivery, shoulders are level and closed, lands closed with a slight fall off finish and some recoil. Fastball sat 89 for the first few batters before settling into 86-89, pitch has downward angle and a bit of late armside run. Curveball was 77 with good armspeed and sharp 10/4 break, pitch has good shape and swing and miss potential. Change-up was 78 with good armspeed and heavy fading action. Command was off a bit resulting in walks, but he was around the zone and it was his first outing of 2021 on a cold windy night. The three pitch mix has the potential to be outstanding once he demonstrates control of it.
VA/DC State Games
Dolby is 6-5 with a lankier athletic frame that has some strength present and plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, strides in place, toe stays down, smooth load back to a slight wrap. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, quick to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing, strong at contact with extension through the ball, showed a pull approach, with power present to his pull side, has natural loft in his swing, exit velocity was 91. Ran a 7.01 60 yard dash.
Underclass Games
Dolby is 6-3 with a very lanky frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, minimal stride, smooth load back with some wrap to his bat. Explosive hips get full rotation, some balance to his swing. Uphill swing path with some batspeed and some whip, gets extension through the ball, showed a pull approach, has a chance to grow into some real power, exit velocity was 83. At short, quick clean feet, rounds ball well and fields with a good wide base and soft hands. Works through exchange and throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a loose arm action, infield velocity was 78. On the mound, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a short free arm action. Lands closed, crossfire delivery, easy effort. Fastball was 76-78, touching 80 with angle and some late run. Curveball was 64-66. A lot of upside will be an interesting prospect to follow.
