Positional Profile: RHP/RHP
Body: 5-9, 165-pounds. Lean proportional frame.
Delivery: Stretch only with some effort. Clean finish.
Arm Action: RH. Quick, over the top arm action with downhill plane.
FB: T87, 85-86 mph. Fastball has late life. T2451, 2241 average rpm.
CB: 66-69 mph. 12/6 shape with some depth. T2123, 2007 average rpm.
CH: 74-76 mph. Changeup shows some fade. T1858, 1733 average rpm.
Freshmen Free Central
Bunch is 5-8 with an athletic frame that has strength present and some projection left to it. He throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, breaks long before shortening up to a loose quick arm action and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are slightly uphill and closed, lands closed with a slight fall off finish. Fastball was 82-85, with some downward plane and a bit of late armside run. Curveball was 67-68 with good armspeed and sharp 11/5 break to it, some shape present with a chance to sharpen more as he develops. Change-up was 76-77 with good armspeed and some late hard fade.
Preseason All-State II
Athletic 5-foot-8, 160-pound frame. Bunch started the delivery with a small rocker step, strides down and out down the mound, and lands slightly closed. The arm action is short with some deception and works out of a high three-quarter arm slot. The fastball sat 77-80 mph with downhill action at times. Had solid feel and arm speed for his changeup. Also threw a 12/6 breaking ball that showed tight shape at 62-64 mph. Hits from the left side with a slightly open athletic stance. Hands set high before dropping slightly in the load. Flat swing path, hands stay tight to the body, and the barrel is quick out of the zone. Swing show line drive tendency using the middle of the field well. Exit velocity was 77 mph. In the outfield Bunch tended to square up at catch fielding it inside of the feet. The arm action is long and loose and throws from a high three-quarter arm slot at 80 mph.
