VA/DC Scout Day
6-foot, 155-pound lanky thin frame. Square stance, equal weight distribution, and hands pre-set back. Loads into the backside before a small stride forward and lands on line. Simple approach and contact driven swing. Line drive tendency to the swing and works mainly gap to gap. Defensively Rowling is an advanced defender. Finished the backend of multiple double plays with a quick clean exchange and was accurate around the bag. Arm strength is average and has the defensive ability to move to the left side as the arm and body add strength.
VA/DC PreSeason All-State Central
Rowling is 5-10 with a lanky athletic 140 pound frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, short smooth load up to a wrap. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path with a strong contact point and extension up through the ball, showed a good approach working gap to gap, should grow into gap power as he fills out, exit velocity was 80. In the infield, rounds the ball and fields with a good wide base and quick soft hands, works through the ball to a quick clean exchange, throws from low three-quarters arm slot, short loose arm action, position velocity was 75. Ran a 7.55 60 yard dash.
Freshmen Free East

Hands stay inside, short to the ball, uphill line drive swing path with a strong contact point and some extension through the ball, showed good approach working gap to gap, swing generates natural loft and carry in the gaps, exit velocity was 78. In the infield, quick feet, rounds the ball and fields with a wider base and soft hands, works through the ball to a quick clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, short loose arm action, position velocity was 74. Ran a 4.52 home to first.
