6/4/15 - Kansas State commit. Looks bigger and more physical than previously seeing him. High level bat, good approach. Typically gets high pitch count at bats but showed more of a willingness to attack pitchers early in counts with good results. Gap to gap pop, doubles power, uses the whole field well, excellent bat control. Pitched in relief, athletic delivery that works slightly open, ¾ slot, loose strong arm, opens slightly early. Fastball sat 88-89 mph for two innings, touched 91 mph once, erratic command, showed it early. Flashed a curveball at 69 mph and changeup at 79 mph, currently average secondary offerings.

4/10/15 - Kansas State commit. Athletic shape, top ten prospect in the state. Consistent player, reliable in the box and in the field. Offensively takes one of the more disciplined at bats we’ve seen, high pitch recognition and plate discipline. Highly patient hitter, sometimes to a fault at the high school level, could jump on more below average fastballs earlier in the count at the high school level. Plate discipline will play well at the next level against tougher pitching, projects as a two-hole type hitter. High rate of quality at-bats. Excellent defender with the ability to stick at shortstop at the next level, strong arm with carry across the diamond, hands are quick and reliable. Also got a glimpse of him on the mound, 83-85 mph fastball touched 86, slower curveball at 68 mph with 11/5 shape.
3/16/14 - Athletic build, showed improved strength, 5-foot-11, 170-pound left handed hitting shortstop. Offensively hits from a slightly open stance, smooth loading action, short stride maintains excellent balance. Advanced hitter, consistent hard contact, path is short with extension, line drive, gap to gap approach. Defensively has a strong arm across the diamond, 82 mph across the diamond, athletic arm action. Hands are soft, plays through the baseball well, advanced actions, showed excellent body control, smooth defender. 4.19 runner down the line. Bunnell showed improved strength and foot speed, a high follow prospect in the Class of 2015.

3/3/13 - 5-foot-9, 150-pound left handed hitting middle infielder. Defensively, showed athleticism, excellent body control, fields baseball athletically, left of center, soft on backhand. Exchange is quick and clean, shows fluid footwork that works well through the baseball. Arm plays, 77 mph across the diamond, athletic release. Offensively, hits from an open stance, smooth load, short stride. Quiet approach, athletic setup and swing, line drive approach, fluid rhythm. Swing shows some lift, whip through the zone, 78 mph exit velocity from the tee.

8/4/13 - A 5-foot-10, 160-pound left handed hitting middle infielder, Bunnell is one of the top middle infielders in the class. Hitting from the left side, Bunnell takes some of the best at bats around. He runs counts deeper than anyone else and is not afraid to hit with two strikes. A mature approach from an incoming junior is refreshing to see. His bat control is highly advanced giving him the luxury to still hit with two strikes. Defensively Bunnell is as sure handed as anyone else in Wisconsin’s 2015 class and shows advanced actions up the middle. His exchange can get long at times but hands are quick and athletic to make any adjustments necessary on the move. Bunnell also showed arm strength at 78 mph across the diamond. For a top or the lineup type middle infielder that grinds out at bats Bunnell is about as good as it gets in Wisconsin’s 2015 class.

Bunnell is a 5-foot-10, 175-pound left handed hitter. Bunnell shows projectability with a young frame that will fill out.
He showed bat speed out of an open stance showing a line drive approach. He has advanced hands for his age that jump to the baseball. Bunnell shows a solid presence in the box with plate discipline.
