2/9/14 - 6-foot-2, 175-pound right handed pitcher, standard build, athletic frame with some projection. One of the best available arms in the Class of 2015, Landers is highly athletic with a big upside. Delivery is athletic and works online with good tempo, repeats well finishing on his glove side. Shows the ability to maintain his delivery from the stretch, athletic and quick to the plate. Arm action is quick and athletic, loose arm with little effort, high ¾ slot. Fastball has run and shows the ability to command it, sits 86-87 mph, touching 88 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape, occasional sweeping action, thrown aggressively with fastball arm action, had tendency to get on the side, 69-72 mph. Changeup has action to his arm side with sink, showed advanced feel of the pitch, 71-73 mph.
8/4/13 - Landers is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound right handed pitcher who has been showing a steady upward progression over the last year. At the Midwest Future Games, Landers pitched at 84-85 mph touching 87 mph multiple times. Landers showed swing and miss stuff in the strike zone with a lively fastball featuring sink and a 75-77 mph breaking ball with command in the zone. Landers has a quick, athletic arm action that looks to hold more velocity down the road. He repeats his delivery well and had two of the better outings at the Midwest Future Games, working clean frames with little effort in both appearances. Landers stock looks to clearly be on the upswing and shows the potential to be a steady arm at the next level.
1/27/13 - Athletic frame, projectable body, 6-foot-2, 170-pound right handed pitcher. Landers is one of the top arms in the Class of 2015, projects as a top regional pitcher. Delivery shows rhythm, direction and athleticism, up tempo delivery. Arm action is quick and loose, high ¾ arm slot. Fastball is a well above average pitch for his age, has hard late run, thrown with command, 83-84 mph, flashed 85 mph. Curveball has slurve action, thrown aggressively, fastball arm action, 72-75 mph, thrown for strikes. Changeup is plus pitch for age, shows advanced feel, thrown with fastball arm speed, change shows excellent action, arm side run, fading action, thrown with command, 76-77 mph. Landers has feel for three pitches with advanced presence on the mound. Very projectable, athletic right handed pitcher, should project as a high level prospect.
