7/16/15 - Verbally committed to Iowa
6.18.15 - Recently committed to Iowa. 6-foot-1, 190-pound catcher, solid sturdy build, wears the gear well. Arm plays well defensively, carries well and highly accurate, plays much better than the velocity recorded (75 mph), short over the top stroke. Exchange is clean and works directly to target, release could get quicker. Has all the catchers actions with a presence behind the dish. Pop times ranged 2.00-2.11. 7.36 runner. Offensively hits from the right side, balanced stance, short stride, good lower half, maintains balance. Simple setup and compact swing, hands worked well, hard contact shows pop in bat advanced bat speed and strength. 94 mph exit velocity from the tee.

3/1/15 - Strong solid build, durable catcher’s body composition, 6-foot-1, 195-pound receiver. Natural catching abilities, soft hands, athletic defender. Arm action is short, over the top slot, quick release, works well out of the crouch, showed carry at 75 mph. Blocks well, quick to his feet. Pop times recorded at 2.00-2.04. High level catch and throw prospect. Right handed hitter, open stance, smooth loading action, short stride, good balance through contact. Makes hard contact, power potential, athletic loose hands at the plate. Line drive gap to gap hitter, excellent bat speed. 93 mph exit velocity from the tee. Showed improved foot speed, ran a 7.46 laser timed 60.
5.8.14 - 6-foot-1, 190-pound catcher with strong upside. At the plate he has an open stance, smooth load backward, short stride, strong balance through the swing. Has a short, fluid, line drive swing with solid extension. Drove balls gap-to-gap with aggressive contact and above average bat speed. Exit velocity was 83 mph off a tee. Behind the dish he showed high quality blocking and receiving skills. Arm works short, over-the-top, 77 mph with accuracy and strong carry from the crouch. Pop times were in the 1.92-2.04 range. Ran a 7.82 60.

3/16/14 - 6-foot, 180-pound catcher, solid build. Offensively hits from a slightly open stance, short stride, lower half works, maintains strong balance. Path is shorter than most, creates hard contact, line drive type hitter, slight pull side approach. 80 mph exit velocity from the tee. Well above average defensive receiver, soft hands, clean exchange. Arm shows carry, 77 mph out of the crouch, short arm action, over the top slot. Posted pop times at 2.08-2.17. High follow catcher in the Class of 2016.
7/23/13 - Athletic build, 6-foot, 175-pound catcher. Well above average defensive actions behind the plate, mechanically sound blocking the baseball. Arm works well from the crouch, stays online, loose over the top slot, with accuracy, 75 mph from the crouch. Posted pop times of 2.04-2.11. Hits from a slightly open stance, smooth load, short stride approach. Lower half works, shows good balance through finish. Showed bat speed with extension, short path with rhythm. Line drive guy, worked both gaps, flashes pull side power potential. Kinzer is one of the best 2016 catchers in the state and shows a serious feel for the game behind the dish.
4/10/13 - 5-foot-10, 175-pounds. Athletic receiver, soft hands behind the plate, receives well. Controls the pace of play well, above average catching actions. Shows advanced pop in his bat to his pull side. Athletic setup, excellent plate discipline, makes hard contact. High level catching prospect. No. 8 prospect in Class of 2016.
1/27/13 - Athletic frame, 5-foot-10, 175-pound catcher. Could project as one of the top catchers in the Class of 2016. Athletic defensive actions, arm shows carry, stays on line well, 72 mph from the crouch, long transfer, pop times range from 2.19-2.3. Receives well, soft hands, quick feet, moves well laterally. Hits from the right side, open stance, smooth load, uses short stride to trigger. Bat path is short, shows extension, line drive hitter, hands work well, works the middle of the field well. Good approach, fluid rhythm. Very projectable receiver.
Solid receiver, soft hands defensively, clean transfer, efficient out of the crouch, athletic release.
