Jirschele featured smooth hands, quick transfer, range to both sides of his glove, fluid footwork and a strong arm across the field. His most impressive play of the day was one that didn’t even record an out. The 5-foot-7 Jirschele jumped and came within inches of a line-drive hit well over his head that even a taller frame would have trouble getting to.
