McLellan, is an athletic and twitchy 5-foot-9, 149-pounds with some projection left in his frame. McLellan started off his day by running one of the quickest times of the day in the 60 yard dash of 7.06 seconds. At the plate, he consistently barreled up line drives to both gaps using a quick and repeatable right handed swing. His smooth actions on defense and strong and accurate arm indicate that McLellan will have no problem sticking in the middle of the diamond on defense. McLellan is certainly a prospect worth monitoring as he continues to develop, as he had one of the more impressive days at the workout.

From the right side, McLellan has a balanced setup at the dish before moving into a high leg lift load. The hands are quick and whippy to allow for barrel control through the zone. The bat path is level and induces natural lift on the ball. A bat to watch moving into Monday’s championship games.

Soft hands and the ability to range to both forehand and back hand showed that defensive smoothness is a definite strength. At the plate, McLellan impressed with an athletic load as well as an on-plane, flexible swing. Bat-to-ball skills are advanced as well. A player to keep an eye on.

McLellan showed off his athleticism right off the bat by running a notable 7.17 seconds 60 yard dash, which was 4th best at the event for the talented 2026 group. He hits with a handsy swing and possesses tons of barrel feel with the ability to hit line drives through the middle of the field. He thoroughly impressed our scouts with his defensive acumen in the middle of the diamond and a strong and accurate arm which should allow McLellan to profile as a shortstop for the long term.
