9/15/13 Thompson showcased well in all facets of the game. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitter utilized a lift and replace stride foot out of a square stance to barrel the baseball routinely with a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. Thompson has excellent rhythm to his swing and the ball jumps of his barrel to all fields. The middle infielder also displayed a soft glove hand and the ability to play through the baseball with throws of 74 mph across the diamond. Thompson topped at 79 mph out of a high 3/4 arm slot with an overhead rocker delivery. He worked a 1-2-3 inning at Thiel College and flashed a 70 mph 11/5 breaking curveball with tight rotation.
