21 Thoughts On The 2021 Class

  • With Calvin Ziegler now staying back for the another year, is it safe to say we are going to see some serious velocity since 2017 when Landon Leach, now member of the Minnesota Twins organization. There have been quarantine videos of Ziegler with a 97, does it get higher, 100 mph? Have we ever had a high schooler in Canada in triple digits?

  • The uncommitted lefties in Ontario. Shoemaker, Montgomery, Clark, Shapiro, Woodcock, Droll, Stairs. You don’t know them? You need too. Click HERE

  • We will pay to watch Brando Leroux take fungos for 45 minutes straight and then steal two bags and go 3-4 off professional pitching . One of the better Team Canada performances we’ve seen from the annual Team C vs Toronto Blue Jays in Dunedin.

  • Speaking of velo, could Hambley be the hardest thrower from the 21’ class. Quarantine video has him touching a 95 mph.

  • How does the MLB draft shake out, with a talented class and hopefully 15-20 more rounds (at least) do the 21s get us back to more Canadians selected.

  • Talking about velo earlier, the Quebec native in Okotoks might have something to say about those high numbers. We’ve seen videos of 94 mph from Super 60 attendee Simon Lusignan, and there is certainly more room to add mph’s.

  • What does the 2020s who stay back and add to the talent in 2021 do to that class? Depth, depth and more depth.

  • Need some glove work mixed with speed and LH bat, Kentucky commit Emilien Pitre will give it to you in Quebec and English.

  • With extra time for injured players to get back and not try and rush back for games, how does the 3rd ranked prospect and Nebraska commit in Core Jackson return from his broken leg?

  • Sebastian Khan is a nice uncommitted arm, Khan is ranked 40th in Ontario, Ontario’s 21 class is deep.

  • Looking for two-way talent, Alexis Gravel of ABC Academie in Quebec is your guy

  • Looking for an uncommitted outfielder, new member of the National Team Drew Lawrence may be the best bat available in Ontario

  • Do you like high exit-velocities? Treyson Smith, Tyrell Chadwick and Jonathan Stables are first-baseman who impact the baseball with AUTHORITY.

  • Do you like athleticism? Malcolm Shirley runs, fields and throws, and was one of the top performers in the ’21 class this winter.

  • Stay locked in on Jonathan Stoddard, the RHP has been up to 88 and is athletic with a quick arm.

  • 2022 LHP Kaelen Clarkson of Team Ontario, flying under the radar. 6’3 210. Reportedly up to 84. Much potential to add serious velo.
