Fresno Easter Classic Pitcher of the Tournament

2019 RHP Alex Kendrick, Buhach Colony

When you show up on the biggest stage of the tournament pitching your team to the title by going complete game, striking out seven, walking one and giving up one run, you get recognized as the Fresno Easter Classic Pitcher of the Tournament. The Fresno State commit was on top of his game showing a large frame with length in his limbs. The quick, compact arm is loose and whippy producing life from a 3/4 release. He showed off an athletic and repeatable delivery being controlled down the hill with an aggressive and attacking demeanor. The FB was 89-91 T92 MPH and held throughout the game. He moved the pitch to all quadrants with excellent command showing arm-side run and sink under the hands of RHHs. This was his main pitch and induced lots of weak contact and easy ground balls. When needing to change a hitters look he showed an above-average CHG (79-81 MPH) that he had feel of showing late dive and bottom through the zone. When a pitcher uses just his FB with a small mix of CHG’s, you know he was feeling it. We saw a lot of very talented pitchers during the week, but Kendrick’s performance in the Championship game stood out to all of our scouts present. Take a look at some video from the start below.
