COVID ended the 2020 season early throughout the State but as things progress quickly for the 2021 high school season, it’s time for us to preview teams from around the State in the Yearly Preseason Preview. Schedules are being adapted to fit the ever-changing landscape and though this season may look different than history has shown us, coaches/staff, players, families, and our team are preparing for 2021 to be as successful as possible.
We’ve submitted the Preseason Questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state and their responses have been flooding in. Over the next several weeks, we’ll be using their detailed insight on our team-by-team previews ahead of the 2021 season leading into the California Power 25 Rankings.

SEASON OUTLOOK:
Whitney Wildcats have become one of the deeper teams in the Sac-Joaquin Section over the past couple of years and 2021 looks to be a similar situation. Coming in with a deep and talented club, Coach Watt has high expectations for this year’s Wildcats team and expects them to be ready to beat any team in the Sierra Foothill League. The pitching staff and team defense will be the deepest part of this team with a couple of big arms atop the rotation. On Offense, this team will have the opportunity to score runs in multiple ways and Coach Watt wants to see more consistency in the offensive approach knowing that there are some premium arms in the SFL this season. With this much talent and high expectations, the Whitney Wildcats believe they have the roster to have a big 2021 season.
