N. CALIFORNIA - The calendar has officially flipped to fall and with that we are in the fall baseball season. It's a great time to check in on some sophomores who are firmly on the recruiting radar.
The last day of the contact period for NCAA D1 coaches to scout off campus is October 13th, which is quickly nearing. We have a couple of events coming up in Northern California, which has us looking at who are some of the top uncommitted players to keep an eye on this fall. Today we ID five uncommitted 2022 grads.
Click on the player's name for their full profile and access to all videos we have gathered of each.
Jaron Nevarez OF / LHP / San Ramon Valley, CA / 2022Rankings StateRank: 41 / POS: 8
On our radar since the summer of his freshman year, Nevarez is one of a handful of legitimate 2-way prospects. Some like him better as on the mound, with his full repertoire and pitchability. Some like him better as a hitter, with a sweet swing that plays to all fields. Who knows how the raw stuff develops, but the swing WILL play. |
Darryl Dilworth Jr. OF / Vanden, CA / 2022Rankings StateRank: 43 / POS: 9
An outfilelder we have seen a number times, Dilworth is one of those players who frequently flashes the tools and potential that allow a scout to dream BIG on him. He also is still quite a ways away from physical maturity. As he does gain strength and explosiveness, the smooth Dilworth has a chance to emerge as an elite talent. |
Maximillian Bernal 1B / LHP / Buchanan , CA / 2022Rankings StateRank: 51 / POS: 3
We came across Bernal in a 2019 preseason event and left there excited to see what his future would bring. He has physical traits as an offensive player that lead to middle of the line-up projections, along with high quality defensive tools. Then as a pitcher he showed us stand-alone talents on the mound with a high ceiling. |
Devon Daniel LHP / Kerman, CA / 2022Rankings StateRank: 62 / POS: 4
For those who get caught up in scouting left-handed pitchers with a radar gun in their hands, Daniel may not be for them. For those scouts who seek left-handers who can PITCH, he is a gem. Daniel is highly competitive, understands his stuff and full repertoire, and possesses the athleticism that allows him feel of three pitches. |
Cade Campbell SS / RHP / Tokay , CA / 2022Rankings StateRank: 80 / POS: 23
Recently came across Campbell in a fall tourney, which only solidified what we previously saw of him, that being a physically projectable middle infielder with a high ceiling. Campbell not only has arm and bat talent that are very clear, he also plays with a motor/confidence that elicits the flattering connotation of 'ballplayer.' |
