Buffalo Grove Defeats Elk Grove For 9th Straight Win

BUFFALO GROVE, IL - Buffalo Grove used an explosive offense to putaway Elk Grove 11-1 in five innings. Bison C Carter Gledhill ended the game in the bottom of the fifth with a three-run home run over the left field fence, extending Buffalo Grove’s lead to 10. Gledhill finished the game 2-for-3 with a double, home run, two runs scored, and four runs batted in.

Elk Grove took a brief 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning after a run scored on a double play. The Bison of Buffalo Grove would come charging back though with a six run bottom of the second. 3B Riley Rundquist would cap the inning off with a bases clearing three-run double to the gap in left center.  

2B TJ Constertina, a St. Thomas (MN) commit,  got the Bison rolling in the fifth inning, leading 7-1, with a leadoff single. Three batters later, LF Rio Komatani extended the lead to 8-1 with an RBI single, setting the stage for Gledhill.

Bison starting pitcher Dan Pocklington would go the distance, scattering four hits and one run over five innings, while striking out four and walking two.

C Zach Mahoney led the Elk Grove offense with two hits. SS Nick Hofmann and LF Justin Post collected the other two hits.
