Class of 2019 Showcase: Top Overall Prospects

The Class of 2019 Showcase took place on Tuesday, July 18th at Wheaton College's Lee Pfund Stadium in Carol Stream, IL. The event had nearly 80 prospects from Illinois' 2019 class  participate in a pro style workout in front of the PBR Scouting Staff. Over the past week or so we have broken down the event by positions. Today we conclude the analysis with a look at the top overall prospects from the day.

TOP OVERALL PROSPECTS

Clark Elliott SS / OF / Barrington, IL / 2019

5-foot-11, 165-pound left-handed hitting shortstop with an projectable frame. Highly athletic. Plus runner running an event best 6.59 60-yard dash. At the plate hits from a wide base with a balanced setup. Short leg lift stride with a drop load. Line drive hitter working pull side and up the middle. Short path with fluid rhyth. 88 mph exit velocity from a tee.Defensively has a short arm action from an over the top slot. Inconsistent accuracy on throws. Quick footwork with a clean exchange, athletic actions, and soft hands. Threw 79 mph across the infield.
