The 2017 Prep Baseball Report Future Games took place on August 2 – August 5th. The one-of-a-kind event featured the best uncommitted Class of 2019 prospects and select 2020 prospects from our 30-plus state coverage area.

Team Illinois showed extremely well over the 4-day event and five participants have already made commitments to Division I institutions following the event.

Last week we rolled out the analysis of the Team Illinois position players. Today, we will look at the pitchers who represented Team Illinois in the 2017 PBR Future Games. Video has been included from the event.

TEAM ILLINOIS PITCHERS

Angel Acevedo, LHP, Kaneland, 2019
5-foot-11, 155-pound, lean, well-proportioned, left-handed pitcher. Works from the stretch only, high glove set, keeps his delivery simple and on-line. Quick arm action with a slight stab on the backside; comes out of a high ¾ slot. Fastball flashed life, late arm-side-run at times, sat 83-84 mph. Curveball, hard-biting action, 12/6 to 1/7 action, above-average depth and spin, struggled to command it, 71-73 mph. Also, features a splitter but did not throw it in game, has been 71-74 mph in the past.
