WINNETKA, IL- Glenbrook South swept the season series against New Trier with a 5-3 victory behind a solid performance from Titan starter Fitz Stadler.

Stadler worked 6 innings allowing just 4 hits while striking out 9 in his outing. Currently ranked No. 8 in the Illinois class of 2015, Stadler allowed a baserunner in each of his 6 innings of work, but the New Trier offense could do little against him, scoring only on a throwing error on a pickoff attempt and a groundout. Stadler had all his pitches working today running his fastball up as high as 91 mph.

The Titan offense got things going right away in the top of the first. Mike Henderson worked a walk to leadoff the game and moved up to third on a single by Connor Pauly. Henderson and Pauly both came around to score giving the Titans a 2-0 lead before Stadler even stepped on the mound.

Glenbrook South added a run in the 2nd and 2 more in the 3rd to give them a 5-1 lead. New Trier cut the lead to 5-2 in the 5th thanks to an RBI ground out by Scott Hammes. The Trevians started a rally in the 7th off Titan reliever Jordan Libman, but could only manage one run to drop the game 5-3.

Billy Cremin worked 4 innings of scoreless relief for the Trevians.

Glenbrook South improves to 12-6 and will be back in action tomorrow at Loyola Academy. New Trier drops to 12-5-1 and returns to action Saturday at home against Glenbrook North.
