On Aug. 6, the PBR Illinois team made its way out to Triton College in River Grove, Ill., to host the invitation-only event Senior Games. The showcase provides incoming, uncommitted seniors of the 2020 class a platform to perform at a high level against fellow on-the-market prospects of the same age level.
Today, we’ll be examining the statistics measured at the showcase, breaking down the day’s top performers from each category. Stay tuned in the next few weeks for position-by-position scouting reports from each of the day’s attendees. For now, here’s the Statistical Analysis.
Nolan Vlcek (Lockport) reared back and topped 87 mph once at Triton, the highest velocity of the day. Connor Best (Coal City) and Alex Rodriguez (Bradley-Bourbonnais) both touched 86 mph, and Rodriguez was the only one to reach that mark consistently.

There were some sluggers at Triton on Tuesday, and Joshua Kirnbauer (Andrew) led the way with a 95 mph mark at the exit velo station. He was red-hot at PBR Wisconsin’s 17U tournament a couple weeks back at The Rock in Franklin, Wis., and he had another strong performance at this week’s showcase. Will Jaynes (Waubonsie Valley) and Matthew Flaherty (Lake Zurich) both tied for second at 94 mph.
