Metamora 1, Dunlap 0
Metamora (11-4; 3-2) won for the second straight contest, blanking Dunlap behind sophomore LHP Geremy Guerrero and junior Ethan Skender..Guerrero scattered eight hits over his 6.1 innings of work but needed relief help in the seventh. Redbird closer Caleb Brachbill retired the last two Dunlap batters to nail down the save. Kansas State-recruit junior Ethan Skender first-inning bomb was all the runs the Redbirds would need on Monday.
Richards 17, Shepard 5
Richards (12-3; 4-0) destroyed the Astros in six innings behind Noel Castro and AJ Sanchez. Castro had two singles and drove home four Bulldog runs while Sanchez had a single, double and drove home three runs. Nate Natividad continued to crush the baseball with four more hits and two RBI. STAT NOTE: Richard’s Nate Natividad is hitting .435 with six doubles, three homers and 18 RBI.
Oak Park11, Downers Grove North 1
Oak Park (7-9; 5-4) crushed the Trojans in Downers Grove in five innings. Creighton-bound RHP Keith Rogalla went the distance for the Huskies, allowing an unearned run and four hits. Rogalla fanned six Trojan batters. Patrick Rumoro had two singles and four RBI to lead the Huskie onslaught.
No. 21 Grant 8, McHenry 3
Grant (14-1) hammered the Warriors behind the Bulldog Dynamic Duo of seniors Ryan Noda and Simeon Lucas. Noda singled, hammered a two-run bomb, his sixth of the season, while Lucas doubled and crushed his fifth round-tripper of the season with two Bulldogs aboard. Junior LHP Andrew Stone improved to 4-0 on the mound with a solid five-inning performance.
