St. Laurence 4, Brother Rice 2
St. Laurence (26-3; 13-2) opened up a 4-0 lead after three innings and kept pace with St. Rita (28-2; 13-2) atop the CCL-Blue standings. NIU-bound RHP Brad Wood (7-1) allowed two runs and eight hits in his six solid innings of work to pick up the win. Purdue-bound Mike Kornacker had a 1-2-3 seventh to nail down the save for Wood. Wood helped himself at the plate with a double and two RBI. Mike Miller chipped in with a single and an RBI. The Vikings will host the Crusaders at Viking Field on Saturday at 11. With a win, the defending CCL-Blue Vikings will win no less than a share of their third CCL-Blue crown in four years. St. Laurence will be Mount Carmel Caravan (21-6;11-4) fans on Saturday as the Caravan travel to St. Rita with hopes of cancelling post-game conference championship celebrations for the host Mustangs.
Romeoville 2, No.5 Minooka 1
Romeoville (12-18; 4-13) handed the Indians a devastating SPC defeat, knocking the Indians out of first place. Spartan Kyle Massaro totally hand-cuffed the hard-hitting Indians, going the distance and allowing an unearned run and six hits. Massaro fanned three and walked one. Romeoville scored two runs in the bottom of the first on a passed-ball and an RBI single from Jose Barraza.
Lincoln-Way North 3, Bradley-Bourbonnais 0
Lincoln-Way North (20-2; 10-1) blanked the Boilermakers behind a two-hit shutout from Kyle Ostrowski. Ostrowski was outstanding, striking out 14 Boilermaker batters while walking three. Josh Mutter had a double and an RBI while Mike Risley and Nick Garcia chipped in with a single and an RBI each for the Phoenix.
