Evanston (16-10-1; 7-6) swept away the Bulldogs behind Sam Evans and Eli Otting. Evans was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI while Otting added a pair of singles and an RBI. Dylan Mulvhill allowed an unearned run and two hits in his five quality innings of work to improve to 4-2 on the season.

Grayslake Central 8, Grayslake North 5
Grayslake Central (19-9; 11-5) stayed atop the FVC Fox lead, with the big win over rival North. Freddie Landers and Mike Stone led the Ram attack as both players went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the FVC-Fox leaders.

Crystal Lake South 3, Cary-Grove 2
Crystal Lake South (13-11; 7-8) used FVC-Valley co-leader Cary-Grove (18-10; 11-5) for Gator meat as CLS was victorious in “The Swamp” in Crystal Lake. Trailing 2-1, the Gators plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth to pull off the stunner. John Constantino tied the game 2-2 with his line drive RBI single to left in the bottom of the fifth. Constantino would score the eventual game-winner on an RBI single from Ryan Heatherington. Josh Smith went the distance for the Gators, allowing one earned run and just three hits to pick up the win
Prairie Ridge 1, McHenry 0 (16 innings)
Prairie Ridge (15-16; 11-5) outlasted the Warriors in a FVC Valley classic in McHenry on Friday. PR’s Cal Aldridge plated Kyle Buresch with the only run of the game in the top of the 16th and Jon Tieman finished off the Warriors in the bottom of the 16th to complete his third shutout inning of relief to pick up the win.

Rockford Boylan 2, Rockton Hononegah 0
Rockford Boylan (22-6; 12-2) won their 11th consecutive game and avenged an earlier loss to Hononegah with the win at home. Will Troia fired a three-hit shutout at the Indians with eight strikeouts. Nick Bruno singled and drove home the only run Troia would need.
