Tuesday May 6 Games

Belleville East 1, No. 17 Edwardsville 0
Belleville East (11-11; 5-5) knocked the Tigers out of first place behind a four-hit masterpiece from Austin Wilson. Wilson (2-2) outdueled Edwardsville’s Jordan Hovey (0-1), who allowed one run and one hit in his complete game performance. Belleville East scored the lone run in the third when Parker Hendricks plated Sheldon Howard, who had the lone Lancer hit a single on a ground out.

Prairie Ridge 9, Jacobs 2 (9 innings)
Prairie Ridge (11-14; 7-5) erupted for seven runs in the top of the ninth to stun the FVC Valley leaders in Algonquin. After the Wolves took the lead 3-2 on a Golden Eagle miscue, Marcus Sargeant singled home a run to make it 4-2. John Meyers and Dustin Telander added two-RBI singles to the seven-run Wolve explosion.

Rochester 6, Lincoln 5
Rochester (14-11; 6-7) slipped past the Railsplitters in eight thrilling innings in walk-off fashion. The Rockets tied the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh on a clutch two-out, two-run single by Hunter Brooks. RHP Jake King had a 1-2-3 top of the eighth striking out two Railers and then with one swing of the bat Jake King sent everyone with a walk-off bomb over the left field fence for a Rocket game-winner.

Grant 4, Lakes 2
Grant (16-4; 7-0) slipped past the Eagles behind the Dynamic Bulldog Duo of Illinois State-bound C Simeon Lucas and University of Cincinnati-bound Ryan Noda. Lucas doubled and plated three Grant runs while Noda doubled and drove home the other Bulldog run. Senior RHP Andrew Stone improved to 7-0  for Grant.
