Illinois Insider: 10 Under-the-Radar 2015 Prospects This Summer

As is the case every summer, many new players have emerged over the last few months. Here is a list of 10 lesser-known, under-the-radar 2015 prospects that have popped up recently at various events:

1. Jordan Johnston, RHP, Lockport HS, 2015
6-foot-2, 180-pound lanky and projectable right-handed pitcher missed the spring with a knee injury and has come on strong recently.  Reportedly was up to 90 mph at the Plainfield South Showcase.  Sat 87-89 mph early on, 83-86 by the fifth, in the summer state playoffs vs. Sandburg from high-3/4, loose arm angle.  Delivery is repeatable with lower half in line towards home and shoulders level.  Slows arm on 70-72 mph curveball with 12/6 shape, but lacks tight rotation and depth. ...
