Illinois recruiting news

Lots of recruiting news across Illinois recently. A look at several seniors who have named their schools:

One of the top power arms in the class is now off the board after RHP Zach Lewis committed to Wabash Valley JC. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound right-hander from St. Laurence HS is currently ranked No. 48 in Illinos’ 2013 class. Lewis had originally committed to Evansville.

Providence Catholic HS had three 2013 prospects who recently picked their schools. OF Brian Jenner committed to Illinois Wesleyan; OF Duke Hill committed to Joliet JC; and INF Steve Gruzkowski committed to Rose-Hulman.

Webster University recently landed three prospects: Lincoln-Way West INF Connor Hogan, Neuqua Valley MIF Matt Wollnik, and former Oswego East RHP Adam Kishanov.  Hogan, a versatile 5-foot-10, 165 infielder, is currently ranked No. 149 in Illinois’ 2013 class. Wollnik, a 5-foot-11, 155-pound middle infielder, is currently ranked No. 151 in Illinois’ 2013 class. Kishanov graduated from Oswego East in 2012.

Michael Rogers, a 6-foot-5, 190-pound LHP from Libertyville HS, has committed to Augustana College.

Pat Mollo, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound C from Naperville North HS, has committed to Illinois Wesleyan.

Kent Frantz, the reigning Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Year, has committed to Truman State University.

Nick Loggarakis, a 5-foot-11, 150-pound INF from Glenbrook South HS, has committed to North Central College. North Central also landed RHP Austin Shanahan, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound RHP from Batavia HS.

Nick Pullano, a 6-foot, 165-pound RHP from Carmel Catholic HS, has committed to Ave Maria University.
