Several more Illinois prospects have named their schools:

David Schurr, a 6-foot-4, 170-pound LHP from Oswego East HS, has committed to St. Joseph’s College. Schurr, who’s ranked No. 71 in Illinois’ 2013 class, earned top prospect honors at the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase in January after the long and projectable left-hander sat 83-85 mph and showed feel for three pitches.

Illinois Central College landed a pair of prospects: LHP Alex Shake (Canton HS) and RHP Skyler Arnberger (Williamsville HS). The 6-foot-3 Shake, who’s ranked No. 141 in Illinois’ 2013 class, posted a 4-3 record with 75 Ks in 54.1 innings as a junior. Shake was one of the top pitchers at the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase in January. Arnberger went 6-0 with a 0.31 ERA, 54 strikeouts, 12 walks and just 18 hits allowed in 45.1 innings for the Williamsville.

Eric Gile, a RHP from Fremd HS, commits to Illinois Wesleyan. Gile showed well at the October PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase.

Ryan Van Volkenburg, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound LHP/OF from Lisle HS, has committed to Maryville University in St. Louis.  The two-way standout went 7-1 with a 0.64 ERA for Lisle in 2012, helping them to a 31-6 record. He also hit .385.

A pair of Marist HS prospects have named their schools: Jack Gainer, a LHP/1B, has committed to Quincy University, while Josh Pfotenhauer, a catcher, has committed to Taylor University.

Alex Neufield, an OF from Lincoln-Way North HS, has committed to Roosevelt.
