Lots of recruiting action over the course of the week. A recap of the recent commitments:

Chuckie Robinson, who’s ranked No. 12 in Illinois’ Class of 2013, has committed to Southern Mississippi. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound cathlete from Danville HS, is one of the top catching prospects in the country, and is ranked No. 37 overall. Robinson possesses big-time arm strength and power at the plate. With Robinson’s commitment, all of the top 40 seniors in Illinois are now off the board.

Several standouts from the Prep Baseball Report Unsigned Senior Showcase on Oct. 14 committed last week:

Connor Riley, a RHP from Marmion Academy HS, commits to Black Hawk College. The 6-foot-1 Riley impressed with his 82-84 mph fastball and sharp, tight slider at the Unsigned Senior Showcase.

Carson Cheesman, a LHP from Galesburg HS, commits to Western Illinois University. The 60foot-1 Cheesman, who’s is ranked No. 119 in the 2013 class, was up to 84 mph at the Unsigned Senior Showcase.

Ankur Shah, a LHP from St. Charles North HS, commits to Illinois-Chicago. Shah recently impressed at the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase with his 82-84 mph fastball and command of four pitches.

Ryan Kent, an OF from Wheaton North HS, commits to Morehead State. Kent is currently ranked No. 84 in Illinois’ Class of 2013.

Kevin Sicher, an OF from St. Rita HS, commits to Ave Maria University in Florida.

Peter Max Meitzler, a 1B from Crystal Lake South HS, commits to Clarke University in Iowa.

Kyle Boch, a C from Wauconda HS, commits to Trinity International.

Cody Massey, a middle infielder from Triad HS, commits to Maryville University.

Heartland CC sophomore RHP Matt Lambert (Ottawa Township HS)  has committed to play at Illinois State University next year.

Rend Lake College landed commitments from RHP Sammy Stearns (Carterville HS) and LHP/OF Landon Thomas (Mt. Vernon HS). Also, Brandon George, RHP DuQuoin HS)/Rend Lake College sophomore has committed to SIU Edwardsville. Nick Andros, LHP Goreville HS/Rend Lake College sophomore has committed to Lipscomb University. Tirey Burch, IF Heritage Hills HS/Rend Lake College sophomore has committed to Ohio University

James Doubet, RHP from Williamsfield, has committed to Danville Area CC.
