Recruiting news from around Illinois

Several more players picked their schools recently. A look at who’s heading where:

The University of Illinois landed the top available arm when it received a commitment from Cody Sedlock, an athletic 6-foot-3 RHP from Rock Island Alleman HS. Sedlock led Alleman to a runner-up finish in Class 2A by posting a 10-3 record with 102 strikeouts.

Chris Tschida, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound infielder from Joliet Catholic Academy HS, has committed to Western Illinois. Tschida earned PBR second-team All-State honors as a junior after he led the Hilltoppers in most offensive categories. He finished with a .495 batting average to go along with 10 doubles, 7 triples, 3 homers and 33 RBI. He also scored 37 runs and had a .626 OBP.

Matt Frawley, a 6-foot-2 RHP from Glenbard North HS, has committed to Purdue. Frawley emerged this summer as one of the premier right-handers in the state, showing a consistent 85-88 mph fastball and feel for three pitches.

The University of Minnesota landed a pair of arms when it received commitments from Downers Grove South RHP Brian Glowicki and Naperville Central RHP Cody Campbell. Glowicki enjoyed a big junior campaign in which he went 8-2 with a 1.41 ERA, 82 Ks to only 7 walks. Campbell is a physical 6-foot-2 right-hander with arm strength.

Matt Cole, a 1B/3B from Rich Central HS, has committed to Alcorn State.
