On Tuesday, June 15, the PBR Illinois and Missouri scouting staffs collaborated to host the annual Top Prospect - St. Louis event at the Lou Brock Sports Complex, found on Lindenwood University’s campus. This invite only event fielded a total of 35 athletes from Missouri, Illinois, and Kansas that primarily represented the 2022 graduating classes, although a handful of 2023s also attended.

When looking at the Missouri prospects, a number of them have already committed. One uncommitted 2022 who had a strong showing was left/left OF Nicolas Neal (Pattonville). Neal has a long, loose, upside frame that plays well in the left-handed batters box. Neal has loose hands, creates whip and flashed sneaky pop during his round of BP (T94.43 exit velocity and 338’ max distance). 

Another uncommitted outfielder who flashed some bat strength was Parker Davis (Fort Zumwalt East, 2022). Davis registered a max exit velocity of 94.4 mph with a max distance of 343 feet. He also topped at 84 mph from the outfield. 

Max Harris (Marquette, 2022), INF Ian Wolff (Wright City), Zac Fruend (Lutheran St. Charles), among others, also showed well at the event.

Looking at Illinois prospects, C/OF Hunter Moser (Williamsville, 2022; Lincoln Land CC commit) turned some heads, thanks to running a 6.76 and flashing a low pop time of 1.87.

C/INF Aidan O’Connell (St. Charles North, 2022) took one of the more impressive rounds of BP on the day. O’Connell, a right-handed hitter, made consistent hard contact, working gap-to-gap with natural loft in his swing. 

INF/RHP Gannon Burns (Edwardsville, 2022) is an infielder with upside to keep tabs on moving forward.
