St. Xavier commit, currently ranked No. 265 in the Illinois 2022 class. Compact, 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame, room for added strength. Burns got the start against No. 3 Belleville East and was impressive over his five innings of work; striking out six to just one walk while not allowing a single earned run. The right-hander showed off a heavy sinking fastball that worked in the 79-83 mph range, filling up the zone and competing throughout his entire outing. He went to his breaking most-often out of his secondary pitches, playing with 10/4 sweeping action and locating around the zone with ease, 66-72 mph. His final offering was a fading changeup, thrown with a similar arm-action at 74 mph.
