Updated Class of 2015 Player Rankings

Illinois’ Class of 2015 is shaping up to be a stellar group of prospects. Already 10 sophomores are verbally committed, and I’m sure many more in the coming months.

This winter we have seen hundreds more 2015 prospects, many of whom attended the loaded Underclass Invitational in January, which featured some of the top underclassmen in Illinois.

As the spring season begins, we have updated and expanded the Class of 2015 player rankings.

The top five players remain intact, led by SS Charlie Donovan (Westmont HS, Michigan recruit). RHP Trent Johnson (Metamora HS, Arizona recruit), RHP Joe Uvelli (Elmwood Park HS, Purdue recruit), C/RHP/OF Nick Dalesandro (Joliet Catholic Academy HS, Purdue recruit) and 3B Willy Bourbon (Stevenson HS) round out the top five.

LHP Jake Hurst (Peoria Notre Dame HS) emerged at the Underclass Invitational as the No. 1 prospect, and the 6-foot-4, 205-pound athlete has subsequently leapfrogged to No. 6 overall. RHP Jeremy Orbik (Homewood-Flossmoor HS) jumps to No. 7, while LHP Kyle Ostrowski (Lincoln-Way North HS, Purdue recruit), 3B Brendan Spillane (Wheeling HS) and RHP Tyler Lass (Belvidere HS) comprise the top 10.

Other big risers in the 2015 class include: RHP Mack Rosman (Fremd HS), C Andrew Shadid (Peoria Notre Dame HS), 3B Luke Mangieri (Dunlap HS), and 3B/1B Matt Hopkins, to name a few.

This class is shaping up to have a lot of high-end talent, especially with power arms, with many more who have yet to emerge.
