Each week, IHSA coaches around the state submit to us their nominations for the PBR Illinois Player of the Week and PBR Illinois Pitcher of the Week honors. On Wednesday, we awarded the Week 10 ‘Player of the Week’ honor to Hunter Warren (Moline, 2023; Wright State), and the ‘Pitcher of the Week’ honor to Evan Foster (Maroa-Forsyth, 2023). Last week, Warren went 13-for-22 (.591) with three doubles, two home runs, nine RBIs, seven runs scored and two stolen bases. Foster  threw a perfect game in the Trojans Regional Championship win, striking out 12 in the outing. He also went 2-for-2 at the plate with a triple, double, two runs scored and two walks.

There were a number of other impressive performances that were in the mix for the award and deserve recognition. Here’s a look at some of the most notable.
