NORMAL COMMUNITY VS DANVILLE - 4.28.18

By Drew Locascio
Illinois Scouting Director

Andy Bunton, SS, Danville, 2018
Danville Area CC commit. 5-foot-9, 140-pound, shortstop, lean build. Impressed throughout the day with his defensive abilities. Athletic actions, soft hands, fundamentally sound. Fields out in front and feet work through the baseball. Loose, clean arm action, accurate throws across the diamond. Made every routine play and a few not-so routine. Snagged a line-drive over his head, catching the ball at his apex of his jump. Later, with the infield drawn in, ranged and dove to his left, reeling in a line-drive short hop; got to his feet and completed the play throwing out the hitter at first base. At the plate, leads off and reached base in three of his four plate appearances. Right-handed hitter, open setup, pre-pitch rhythm, looks to control the barrel and hit the ball where it is pitched.

Nick Gilhaus, RHP, Normal Community, 2019
Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 39 in the Illinois’ 2019 class. 6-foot-2, 210-pound, right-handed pitcher, thick, durable lower half. Started on the mound for Normal Community. Went six innings, scattered six hits, no runs, struck out seven and walked four.
