There were several stellar performances turned in last week for Porsche Exchange Player of the Week honors. Ultimately, left-handed hitting C Simeon Lucas (Grant HS) earned the honors. In case you missed it, here is the story on Lucas’ award-winning week.

Aside from Lucas, here are several other players who received Player of the Week consideration. All statistics were reported by the players’ high school coaches.

+ Hunter Hart, RHP/INF, St. Joseph-Ogden, 2014
The Indiana recruit went 2-0 last week. In 13 innings, he allowed one hit, two runs and struck out 22. One of his victories included a 2-1 win over previously ranked Teutopolis in which he struck out 13 and allowed one hit. Offensively, he delivered the game-winning two-run single in the bottom of the sixth. For the season, Hart is 4-0 with a 0.33 ERA. Opponents are hitting 0.058 against him; he has allowed only four hits all year.

+ Bryan Hudson, LHP/1B, Alton HS, 2015
The 6-foot-7, 215-pounder is off to a torrid start of the season.  On the mound, he threw a five-inning no-hitter with 12 strikeouts against Orchard Farm (MO). Offensively, he went 4-for-5 with a homer, double, five RBI and was walked seven times. In 12 at-bats, he reached base an amazing 11 times last week. For the season he’s batting .469 with two homers, four doubles, 17 RBI, and is 3-0 on the mound as of last week.

+ Matthias Dietz, RHP, Sandburg HS, 2014
The John A. Logan JC recruit opened the season with a no-hitter in which he K’d 13 against Oak Lawn. In his second start he threw a complete-game six hitter. On the season he’s 2-0. In 12 innings he’s struck out 19 and yielded only three hits.

+ Kevin Zanger, MIF, Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin HS, 2014
Zanger went 10-for-13 with two triples, six runs and three RBI in four games last week. He’s batting .609 for the season. He is committed to Benedictine in Springfield.

+ Anthony Santos, RHP/1B, York HS, 2014
The Black Hawk College recruit went 7-for-18 with a homer, double and six RBI. On the mound, he threw 13 innings last week with 13 Ks, which included a victory over Oak Park.

+ Tanner Kehrer, INF, Belvidere North HS, 2014
In three games, Kehrer went 8-for-10 with three doubles, seven RBI, seven stolen bases and two walks.
