On Wednesday, June 5th, the Prep Baseball Illinois staff traveled to Triton College in River Grove, Illinois to host the Chicagoland Summer ID. The event hosted 40 players from across the state and allowed our staff to get a closer look at these players to kick off the summer circuit.

Today we take a look at some of the top performances from the event, and will later roll out our position-by-position scouting analysis stories.

TAKEAWAYS

+ LHP Luke Stevenson (Batavia, 2025) showed some deception throughout his ‘pen with a dynamic arsenal, featuring three pitches. Standing in at a high-waisted, lean, and trim frame at 6-foot-4, 188-pounds, he is a loose and athletic mover down the mound. His fastball sat in the low 80’s (T83) with some carry through the zone at times. He had quality feel for the strike zone with both offspeed pitches; throwing a short-biting slider at 71-72 mph, and maintaining armspeed on a 76-79 mph changeup that showed occasional downer fade.

+ INF Xavier Martin (Oak Park-River Forest, 2027) showed off some loud tools during his round of batting practice. The muscular and sturdy 5-foot-9, 187-pound prospect showed the ability to leverage the baseball in his round, even sending multiple balls out of the park. He posted event highs in both exit velocity (100.7 mph) and max distance (395 feet). While also finishing top-3 in both bat speed (81 mph) and hand speed (25.1 mph) from the event.

+ Showing some real two-way intrigue from the event was OF/RHP Luke Wildes (Benet Academy, 2025). Presenting an athletic and physical build at 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, Wildes led the event in the 60-yard dash, posting a time of 6.75. He also tossed the second hardest bullet from the outfield defense portion of the event at 88 mph. The left-handed hitter also had a line drive-filled round of batting practice, posting a max exit velocity of 92.5 mph. On the mound from the right side, Wildes continued to intrigue; posting the third-highest fastball velocity (86.9 mph), while showing a strong feel for the zone (100% strikes) with his slider, playing tight at 75-77 mph.

+ RHP/1B Cameron Delahoussaye (Waubonsie Valley, 2027) emerged as a name to know in the state’s incoming-sophomore class. Presenting an imposing frame at 6-foot-2, 203-pounds with a visibly strong lower-half, Delahoussaye had a strong all-around showing. Starting at the plate, the right-handed hitter had hard elevated contact to the pull-side throughout his round with a max exit velocity of 98.1 mph (third-highest for the event) with an average bat speed of 77.4 mph (second-highest for the event). He then led the event in highest infield velocity at 87 mph across the diamond from first base with comfortable actions around the bag to pair. He then hopped on the bump and ran his fastball up to 86.3 mph with an average spin rate of 2508 rpm (an event high). His best offspeed pitch during his ‘pen was a 67-68 mph splitter with downer action at the bottom of the zone. Delahoussaye is now ranked No. 30 in the state, and will be one to watch throughout the summer circuit.

+ Putting together one of the more intriguing bullpens on the day was RHP Neyderson Campos (YCCS, 2025). A wiry and athletic 6-foot-3, 181-pounds, Campos showed to be an athletic arm to keep tabs on moving forward in the state’s incoming-senior class. He showed a lively fastball that sat 86-89 mph (T90) with some sink to it. He tossed in two different breaking balls; with his curveball playing at 78-82 mph, while his slider played with sharp downer action at 78-81 mph with some feel to spin (avg. 2213 rpm). Campos would round out his mix with an 83-87 mph changeup that was thrown with intent, playing with some sink to the arm-side.

+ A pair of 2025 backstops that had loud rounds of batting practice were C/3B Mason Monce (Wheaton Warrenville South, 2025) and C Jacob Llewellyn (Naperville Central, 2025).

Monce showed some barrel strength in his round, posting a max exit velocity of 95.5 mph, with an average exit velocity of 89.7 mph. He also had the third-highest average batted ball distance for the event at 274 feet (339’ max).

Llewellyn also hit the ball hard throughout his round, with a max exit velocity of 94 mph - which is a 6 mph improvement from when we last saw him this past February. His furthest ball in the round traveled 335 feet.

+ Two incoming-sophomores that showed well at the event were OF Brady Koren (Lyons Township, 2027) and 1B Evan Adamczewski (Maine South, 2027).

Koren created hard contact to the middle and pull-side parts of the field throughout his round of batting practice with a max exit velocity 88.7 mph. He also had a clean defensive round in the outfield, showing natural and athletic actions, with his hardest bullet clocking in at 81 mph.

Adamczewski showed barrel strength during his round of batting practice, registering a max exit velocity of 93.7 mph with a max batted ball distance of 324 feet to pair. He continually had hard line drive contact to the pull-side from the left side of the dish with a level and direct bat path.

+ RHP Matthew Steinberg (St. Charles East, 2025) is a 6-foot-3, 183-pound athletic mover to know from the event. From a quick, ¾ slot, his fastball sat 85-86 mph with some occasional ride through the zone. His curveball played at 65-67 mph with an average of -23.4” of horizontal movement, while his slider played in the zone 75% of the time at 71-77 mph.

+ OF Clancy Rogers (Glenbrook South, 2026) showed well on both sides of the ball at the event. A strong and sturdy 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, Rogers showed strength with the bat and his arm. The right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 96.9 mph (fourth-highest for the event) with a max batted ball distance of 344 feet. He also posted the event’s hardest bullet from the outfield at 89 mph with clean footwork and actions to pair.

+ RHP Beckett Weber (Normal Community, 2026) displayed a quick arm and a strong feel for the zone (83% strikes) with his fastball at 81-83 mph. He had some feel to spin his curveball also, playing with an average of -18” of horizontal movement through the zone.

+ RHP Tyler Osmanski (Lincoln-Way East, 2027) posted the third-highest average curveball spin rate for the event at 2317 rpm. His fastball sat 80-82 mph (T83) with slight arm-side run at times. While his changeup also showed occasional arm-side action (11.3” max HM) to make for a quality tertiary offering.
