Class of 2029 Rankings Update

With the summer circuit finally behind us, it is time for our staff to refresh the rankings before our fall circuit fully starts to take off. Between events and tournaments, there was a ton of action to be seen, with players making notable strides and raising their own stock.
Today, we are taking a look at some of the notable movement in the rankings, found below.

Top-10
+ INF/RHP Paris Head (Lane Tech) remains in the top spot as he continues to look like one of the top two-way prospects in the entire country. The hands and actions profile him up the middle of the infield long-term, and he has plenty of arm-strength to stick on the left side as well. He was a performer with the bat this past spring for a strong Lane Tech club with All-Conference honors, and he’s only going to get stronger and add impact to his lean 6-foot, 160-pound frame. He’s also one of the top arms in the midwest, pairing elite arm-speed with a fastball around the 90 mph mark - along with a sharp curveball and a changeup.
+ C Terrell Hampton Hall (De La Salle) is rising one spot to No. 2 in this update as he has firmly established himself as one of the best true catchers in the country. The defense is highly advanced behind the plate with his receiving, blocking and overall feel for the game - pairing with a well above-average arm from the chute (T76 mph) that can get down to 1.90 for his pop-time. The right-handed bat is also advanced, boasting a loose and fluid move with feel to control the barrel and elevate. There’s also present power in the bat with exit velocities peaking over 100 mph this winter for us, averaging around 92 mph.
+ INF Jacob Scheffler (Springfield) emerged as a must-know name in the state this summer, and he’s making his rankings debut at No. 3 in the state. He has a premier 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame with all sorts of room to add strength, and he’s a premium athlete with above-average run-times in-game. The left-handed swing is direct and strong with minimal swing/miss, showing advanced feel to manipulate the barrel and use the whole field in-game with some loud results. He has the actions and arm-strength to stick on the infield long-term, helping add to his profile even further.
+ OF/RHP Cylis Rainey (Mount Carmel) is rising one spot to No. 4 in this update, coming off a strong summer circuit where he showed his advanced ability on both sides of the ball. The arm-talent stands out on the mound with a fastball up to 88 mph, and there’s some feel to pitch with the ability to throw both a slider and a changeup for strikes. There’s a lot to like positionally as well, routinely hitting in front of our staff for power with a clean and athletic swing that possesses notable bat-speed.
+ RHP Tommy Cavaliere (Lyons Township) is rising five spots as he continues to look like one of the top pitching prospects in the midwest. Standing in at a highly projectable 6-foot-3, 200-pounds, it’s easy to picture his frame adding a considerable amount of muscle in the coming years. We’ve seen the fastball up to 90 mph with carry traits, flashing a handful of quality secondaries to fill out his arsenal - highlighted by a sharp slider with over 2,600 rpm and a curveball he can land in the zone when needed.
+ RHP Theo Schroedter (Whitney Young) is another highly projectable right-hander rising in this update, now up to No. 10. He’s 6-foot-2, 156-pounds with long, lanky levers, and there’s all sorts of room for him to continue to fill out in the coming years. The fastball is consistently in the upper-80s, coming from a long, loose operation on the mound paired with a quick arm. He’s also shown confidence and feel to land his curveball to keep hitters off the fastball.

+ INF Mason Leiterman (Bartlett) was a big winner for our staff throughout the summer, and he’s rising to No. 13 as a result. It’s easy to project the frame at 5-foot-11, 156-pounds with wide shoulders, and he profiles on the left-side of the infield long-term. He was on the barrel throughout numerous looks with a clean, balanced swing, showing a polished approach with the ability to control the barrel around the zone.
+ C/INF Maddux Carson (Geneva) is rising three spots, coming in at No. 15. He was one of the biggest winners across our events this summer, seemingly hitting at every stop along the way. The swing is loose and handsy with twitch, pairing with a line-drive approach with sneaky jump off the bat. He’s an advanced defender with a quick/clean glove-to-hand, pairing with a strong and accurate arm (75 mph, 1.95 pop-time). To add another layer to his profile, he’s an athletic defender on the infield with crisp actions and a natural look.
+ OF Tyler Lanzi (Providence Catholic) is one of the toolsier players in the state, and he’s rising to No. 17 to reflect that. He’s a 6.72 runner with range and an athletic gait that allows him to cover ground in the outfield. The right-handed swing is direct and compact with present twitch, showing some spray to the whole field with low-90s exits.
+ RHP Vicente Amaro (De La Salle) is making his rankings debut, coming in at No. 18. One of the biggest winners from the Midwest Super Sophomore Games, the long-levered right-hander dominated over his three innings with a three-pitch mix and the ability to land all his offerings in the zone. From a shorter, compact arm action and simple delivery, the fastball worked up to 88 mph with carry and life through the zone, pairing with a bullet slider and fading changeup that he was utilizing as an out-pitch.
+ INF/RHP Kody Anderson (Triad) was another big winner from the Midwest Super Sophomore Games, as well as the State Games, and he’s rising to No. 19 in this update. A true two-way, Anderson was all over the barrel at the MWSSG, leading the event in exit velocities over 90 mph in-game. The swing is clean and balanced with a flat path, showing the ability to control the barrel and use the whole field with loud results, peaking at 97 mph for his EV in-event. He’s an athletic defender to pair, showing a confident glove with a strong arm across. On the mound, he’s a dynamic mover downhill with a quick arm, working the fastball up to 86 mph with a low-70s slider and mid-70s changeup to pair.
+ RHP Landon Hahn (North Boone) is making his rankings debut at No. 24 after a handful of impressive looks over the summer, particularly at the State Games on the mound. He’s 6-foot-2, 184-pounds with a trim, athletic build and room to add strength. There's a real feel to pitch with three pitches for strikes, highlighted by his tight slider and diving changeup that both collected whiffs in our look. The fastball is also impressive peaking at 86 mph, and we expect him to only throw harder in the coming years.
+ INF Michael Wente (York) comes in at No. 28 in this update, and he’s been a consistent winner for our staff all across 2026. The tools jump off the page, pairing a 6.60 in the 60 with a 101 mph peak EV. The right-handed hitter has a clean move at the plate with a balanced swing and present bat-speed, shooting line-drives consistently with impact off the barrel.
