On August 6th and 7th, the Prep Baseball Illinois Staff hosted the Illinois State Games at the Rantoul Family Sports Complex in Rantoul, IL. This is the third year we have run this event, and it continues to gain traction as the largest and most competitive showcase in the state. There were 363 players that made the trip to Rantoul, ranging from the 2025-2027 classes, and there were just under 80 colleges of all levels in attendance to scout the event. 

Below you will find scouting reports on every single class of 2025 infielder that was in attendance, along with a Top-10 ranking, taking into account both the workout and gameplay. 

James Spellman (Notre Dame College Prep; Lewis University) and Shea Glotzbach (Lemont) are a couple strong left-handed hitters to note. 

Glotzbach was a pivotal piece in Lemont’s success this past spring in the middle of their lineup, helping to lead them to the Class 3A State Finals. He impressed with an intentful swing from the left side, reaching up to 94 mph and averaging 89 mph for his EV. 

Spellman sports a projectable 6-foot-3, 201-pound frame with some present strength throughout, and he connected for a loud home run in gameplay. His BP foreshadowed what was to come, as he reached up to 101 mph for his max EV while averaging 90 mph. 

Madden Johnson (Mattoon) is a wiry 6-foot, 155-pound left-handed hitter that left the event on a high note. He swung it well all week, finishing 4-for-6 with two triples, three RBIs and a run scored. 

Cash Bailey (Columbia; Mineral Area JC) put together one of the loudest rounds of BP we saw in the entire event, reaching up to 104 mph for his max EV with a max distance of 401’.
