On August 6th and 7th, the Prep Baseball Illinois Staff hosted the Illinois State Games at the Rantoul Family Sports Complex in Rantoul, IL. This is the third year we have run this event, and it continues to gain traction as the largest and most competitive showcase in the state. There were 363 players that made the trip to Rantoul, ranging from the 2025-2027 classes, and there were just under 80 colleges of all levels in attendance to scout the event. 

Below, you will find scouting reports on every single senior outfielder that was in attendance along with a Top-15 ranking, taking into account both the workout and gameplay. 

One name that must be mentioned is Justin Garcia-Hernandez (St. Patrick), who had arguably the loudest round of BP we’ve seen for some time. The right-handed hitter created an eye-opening 110 mph max EV with a max distance of 416’, creating all sorts of bat-speed through the zone (78 mph avg). He also wields a strong arm, topping out at 90 mph from a crow hop.
