Future Prospects And Educational Camp: March 25th Analysis

By Drew Locascio
Illinois Scouting Director

The second Future Prospects Showcase & Educational Camp of 2018 took place on Sunday, March 25th at The Bo Dome in Lockport, IL. 50 2022 and 2023 high school graduates participated in the event. At the event we take the time to educate players on what scouts look for, the recruiting process, and the overall landscape of playing baseball at the next level.

A number of players in attendance are bound to be high-follow prospects as they continue to mature and step foot into their respective high schools.

The crop of catchers at the event were particularly impressive. Nate Voss, Brady Small, Will Plattner, Bryce Nevils and Zion Rose were some of the many standout backstops in attendance. Voss and Small also got on the mound and had the firmest fastball’s of the day.

When it comes to individual performances, Jack Scheri had one of the best all-around days. Scheri ran the top 60, was 84 mph across the diamond and showed a feel for pitching as well. Seth Parkinson looked natural on the infield and can handle the bat.

Sammy DeConcilis, Dillon Head and Will Kistner all showed potential in the outfield. David Wilhite and Amir Gray have intriguing left-handed bats that will be fun to watch down the road.

A number of others not mentioned, held their own at the event and will be ones to watch in the coming years. Below we rolled out all of the analysis from the event, breaking down the 2022, 2023 and one 2024 graduates separately:
