Purdue commit. Currently the No. 37 ranked player in IL. Listed at a strong-bodied, 6-foot-1, 200-pounds with a strong lower-half. Impressed at the plate with numerous quality at-bats throughout the day against premium velocity. The left-handed hitter starts in a stock setup, moving with a quick leg-lift and minimal hand-load to remain on-time for velocity - sitting back on an 88 mph fastball on the outer half and shooting it the other way for an RBI single. He showed a keen eye at the plate, walking in his first at-bat on the day and rarely chasing out of the zone. He finished the day 2-for-2 with an RBI. High-level left-handed bat within the state’s 2023 class.

The left-handed hitter starts in a crouched position, moving with a simple/repeatable operation throughout his swing, repeatable stride; hands stay short to the ball with intent to lift, notable bat-strength with juice off the barrel especially to pull-side; tattooed a ball to right-field for a single in his first at-bat. At first-base, Gray moves around well for his size, playing reliable defense with steady hands that work out front.

At the plate, athletic, balanced stance, quiet hands, minimal pre-pitch movement to a smooth load. Strong, quick hands through the zone, power swing to the gaps. Defensively, can play both the corner positions, athletic actions, fluid footwork around the bag.

Strong hands, short path to the baseball, present bat speed with pull side pop, line drive hitter, easy effort, exit velocity topped 75 mph off a tee. Calm and confident in the box, got his pitch in game. Hit seven doubles on the week and stole four bases. Defensively, steady hands, pack transfer, short arm, ¾ to high ¾ slot, throws topped 66 mph across.

3.25.18 - 5-foot-9, 180-pound, thick, strong, physically-imposing, two-way prospect. Left-handed hitter with advanced bat strength for his age. Balanced setup, leg-kick timing trigger, utilizes lower half and maintains balance through contact. Simple swing, creates easy bat speed, natural lift in swing and flashed power potential. 75 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively, on the infield, natural ranging to his glove side. Long exchange, short arm action, over-the-top slot and throws topped at 65 mph. 7.85 runner in the 60. On the mound, right-handed pitcher, delivery works with some effort, coiled at balance point and finishes on-line. Plunging action out of the glove and throws from an over-the-top slot. Fastball, thrown for strikes, sat 69-71 mph, touched 72. Curveball, 11/5 shape, 54-58 mph. Changeup, sinking action, 56-59 mph.
