Season Outlook
The Lancers return essentially the State Championship team from last year. The
question is whether or not the Lancers can repeat as State Champs without All-
American Joey Wentz. Varsity experience is something the Lancers will rely on as
they return 8 seniors and 1 junior that started last year. The pitching staff and
depth of pitching is what will set this team apart. Zebulon Vermillion (Arkansas), Henry Miller, and Luke Anderson (Missouri) will handle most of the starts with juniors Dalton Mall and Chris Closser anchoring the pen. Along with a great pitching staff the defense will be the best defense Coach Ryherd has ever assembled. On the offensive side, Jake Randa, anchors an offense that returns a .322 team batting average. The Lancers are well rounded.  They can hit, pitch and defend with experienced players all over the field. They will be the team to beat in Kansas Class 6 as they look to repeat as state champions.
